Lease Terms

  • 12–24 month lease. Shortest commitment. Monthly payments 30–40% lower than short-term rental. Good for project-based operations or businesses testing whether they need permanent equipment.
  • 36–60 month lease. Lowest monthly payments. Best for established warehouse and manufacturing operations. At the end, you can return the equipment, renew at a lower rate or purchase at fair market value.
  • Fleet leasing. Multiple units on one contract. Volume discounts on monthly rates. Staggered replacement schedules so you're never running all old equipment. Dedicated account manager for fleet clients.

What's Included

Every lease includes scheduled maintenance — PM inspections, oil changes, hydraulic service, tire replacement and annual OSHA compliance inspections. Breakdowns are covered under the full maintenance agreement at no extra cost. We dispatch a technician directly to your site — you don't transport the forklift to a shop. Replacement equipment provided during extended repairs.

Tax and Accounting Benefits

Operating leases keep the forklift off your balance sheet. Monthly payments are expensed as an operating cost — no depreciation schedules, no asset management paperwork. For companies watching their debt-to-equity ratio or trying to preserve credit lines, leasing keeps the books cleaner than financing a purchase.

Capital leases (where you intend to buy at the end) work differently from an accounting standpoint. Talk to your CPA about which structure makes sense for your situation. We offer both options and can structure the lease either way.

End-of-Lease Options

When the lease ends, you have three choices. Return the equipment and walk away — no obligation. Renew at a reduced rate — the forklift is older now, so the monthly payment drops. Or purchase the equipment at fair market value. Most 36-month lessees either renew or upgrade to newer models. Most 60-month lessees buy the equipment outright since the purchase price is low after five years of depreciation.

We start the end-of-lease conversation 90 days before expiration. No last-minute surprises. If you want to upgrade, we coordinate the swap so there's zero downtime — new equipment arrives the same day the old equipment leaves.

Who Leases Instead of Renting?

Warehouses and distribution centers that need forklifts every day, year-round. Manufacturing plants running two or three shifts. Lumber yards, pipe yards and building supply companies with permanent material handling needs. If your forklift runs 5+ days a week and you need it for more than 12 months, a lease saves 30-50% compared to month-to-month rental rates.

The break-even point between rental and lease is typically 6-9 months. If you're renting month-to-month and the project keeps extending, call us about converting to a lease. We'll credit a portion of your rental payments toward the lease deposit.

Credit and Approval Process

Leases require a credit application. Most established Houston businesses get approved within 24-48 hours. We look at time in business, trade references and overall financial stability. Startups and newer companies may need to provide a personal guarantee or an additional security deposit. The process is straightforward — fill out the application, provide two trade references and we'll have a decision fast. Once approved, your first unit can be delivered within a week of signing.
